♥ Manifestation Series: Creating A Beautiful Morning Routine ♥

Many of us recoil at the idea of a “morning routine”, assuming that it’s reserved for that elite brand of high-functioning individual we can’t relate to or that we’re too busy and we simply don’t have the time. Most people barely make time for breakfast before they get out the door, let alone any form of spiritual or self-developing practice, and that’s the sort of high-stress, work-centric time we live in.

It’s easy to think that we don’t have any time for ourselves. This can lead us to stay up late after work to try and salvage those seemingly rare moments of solitude and relaxation before going to sleep and waking up to another work day. Naturally, this can cause us to wake feeling haggard and robbed of a good night’s sleep. This was mostly my reality the past few weeks when I was working unsociable hours in a job that didn’t align me.

Now that I’m out of that situation and have a week off before I start my new job, I’m determined to make a beautiful morning routine a staple in my life. All of us could so greatly benefit from focusing on the type of person we want to be rather than the way we have been in the past. I know how it feels to think: “I’m not good at that” or “I’m not that kind of person” or “there’s no point trying”.

I think a lot of these limiting beliefs come from childhood and our parents asserting who it is they think we are. I think that sometimes parents neglect to realise that people, especially their children, are changing all the time and are continually unlocking their potential and personal power. Adding negativity into this process of change can be detrimental.

But as we become adults, we become responsible for uncovering our true, loving nature and sowing the seeds of our own happiness. Starting the day off with a loving, intentional and positive routine is my way of doing this. I have a list of activities that I intend to do at least 4 of every day. My list goes like this:

  • Set a daily intention
  • Read out manifestation list
  • Read out empowering quote
  • Read out empowering beliefs
  • Meditate
  • Dance
  • Have a healthy, vibrant breakfast
  • Say 5 things I love about myself in the mirror

Having it read as more of a checklist whereby I don’t necessarily need to check off everything helps the process remain accessible and achievable to me. The steps which relate to manifestation are ones which I prioritise and although I eat breakfast everyday, having one which is extra healthy is a bonus to me. I like the variety in my morning routine checklist and it never fails to put a smile on my face.

The manifestation list refers to a manifestation practice I got from this video, I also covered limiting and empowering beliefs in another blog post here if anyone’s interested. Ultimately, I’m working towards getting to a place of complete alignment, self love and self acceptance to be able to manifest my dream life. I think it’s really helpful to remind yourself first thing in the morning of the direction you wish your life to go in.

It’s so easy to slip into negative habits and let our dreams and true passions lie dormant, especially when this can seem more comfortable than being proactive and mindful. But even if morning routine activities can seem challenging and tiring sometimes, that little bit of effort can have a profound effect and that’s something I’m realising more and more on my spiritual journey. Sometimes insights arise as the result of a meditation a few days after. Sometimes setting an intention brings about change in ways I would never have thought possible. Sometimes letting go just a little bit makes room for unexpected serenity.

Do you have a morning routine? What are your favourite activities? Let me know! 🙂

Thanks so much for reading.

  1. Love your list 😊 Morning routines are everything! Saw this quote recently which I think you’ll appreciate:

“Be pleasant until ten o’clock in the morning, and the rest of the day will take care of itself.”
